A sensitive black teenager with an embarrassing form of OCD must navigate a tough, competitive, and mostly white all-boys grammar school to find out who he is, as his year group hurtles toward the summer holiday into increasing violence, bizarre happenings, and eventually all-out war - set around a historic countryside town more interested in its past than its future.

On a cold East London night, homeless girl Billy breaks into a derelict, half-finished block of luxury flats called The Ivory. She soon starts squatting there with the owner Job and, rising through the ranks of his elite cycle courier company, Billy soon starts delivering seedy packages across the capital to its shadowy 1%. With violence and threat from all sides, she is thrust into an underworld game of corporate chess that threatens to destroy everything.

Blackberrying marks Rowan’s return to narrative film after his ventures into theatre, documentary, and music video.
This short film tells the story of Bo, a boy who has recently committed suicide, and Samuel, his former best friend. After having an argument that they never reconciled, Bo is thrust back into existence and wanders into a strange house. Samuel is inside.

After the success of Life in Death, Rowan was commissioned by Hear First Productions to write a podcast play for their anthology series.
Immersed in the world of a fictitious meditation app, Jacobs invites the listener to directly experience a dystopian future where human sensation is digitalised.
Released January 2019.
Opening at the Camden Fringe 2018, Life in Death followed Wallace and Mary as they try to work through their differences an hour before he is hanged for murder.

This documentary, commissioned by the Heritage Lottery Fund, follows a small theatre company as they research the Essex coastline, with a view to reviving its lost culture.
A feature film written and directed by Rowan, The Silver Kings follows three young friends as they spend their last summer together. It discusses themes of self, drugs, and violence.
